#JustLikeDad - the FatFace team share their childhood stories and Dad memories
June 06, 2021
After the tough year that was 2020, it has never been more important to recognize and celebrate the fantastic people in our lives.
This Father’s Day, the FatFace team have got together to share their favorite childhood stories and Dad memories.
Darren's Dad
“Growing up, my dad always encouraged us to enjoy the outdoors and our holidays were spent camping and caravanning around the UK. We still try and fit in at least one family camping trip a year. This was a particularly great trip, camping by a lake for Father’s Day in 2014.”Annabel's Dad
“There are so many reasons why I absolutely adore my Dad. He’s kind, caring, supportive… but mostly, he’s an incredible cook. Growing up, he was always experimenting with food, creating the most amazing dinners for me and my siblings. I specifically remember coming home from school one day and seeing homemade spaghetti being hung all around our kitchen on coat hangers before being cooked. It looked absolutely crazy and I had never seen anything like it before. To this day, going home is such a treat; it’s full of good food, G&Ts and board games. Sadly, I don’t think his talent for cooking was passed down to me, so I will keep letting him take charge of the fancy meals.”Beth's Dad
"Some of the fondest memories of my dad are from family holidays. Me and my sister always loved playing with him in the pool, dressing him up in an inflatable ring hat and splashing him with water. He always kept us laughing and sometimes he would even join in with the hotel kids’ disco that we went to every night. I wouldn’t change my dad for the world (even if he does make lots of embarrassing dad jokes!).”Laura's Dad
“My dad – I don’t think I could admire him more. A career man, a true family man, passionate about his hobbies and always there for others. His kindness, ambition and thirst for positivity in life are values which I will always look to emulate. And now he’s an amazing granddad to my gorgeous girls – I just can’t wait for them to see him again after 11 months apart.”Tom, a dad
“For me, being a dad is more than just calling yourself a dad. I became a father the moment my first little girl came into the world, but I have had to earn the right to call myself a dad. There’s a feeling you get seeing your little one for the first time, it becomes second nature to teach them, and enjoy every moment with them – it’s been the hardest but most rewarding journey of my life so far, and I’m excited to keep growing. I still have a few hairs left on my head… but there is a long way to go yet.”Thank you to all the brilliant dads out there, have a fantastic Father’s Day!
