Fashion Revolution Week 2019

For another year, we’re proud to support Fashion Revolution and use this chance to show you who makes your clothes.

Fashion Revolution Week falls around 24th April, the anniversary of the Rana Plaza factory collapse which took the lives of over 1000 workers and injured many more.

At FatFace, we have a dedicated Responsible Sourcing Team who are passionate about providing great working conditions across the 150 factories that make our products. See our blog post from last year to find out a little more on our involvement with #FashRev, what it is and to see who makes your clothes.

This year we wanted to celebrate more of the people who make your clothes and give you some insight into the relationship, we at head office, have with our factories and suppliers.

Steph Hobbs, Responsible Sourcing Co-ordinator

“Visiting factories is the most exciting part of my job as co-ordinator in the Responsible Sourcing team - it’s always amazing to meet the people who make our products. Worker Rights are at the very core of my role and we are consistently reviewing conditions to make sure the people making our products are looked after.”

Lauren Felton, Womenswear Buyer

‘‘It’s great to follow a garment from start to finish; seeing all the technical processes involved in making each of them. From the delicate cutting of embroidery threads to precise placement of pleats - so much care and attention is put into each and every piece”.

Kayleigh Shanks, Bags and Footwear Buyer

"I absolutely love visiting the factories our shoes and bags are made in and seeing our styles going through the different production stages. When we have taken months to get to the final approval stage of a sample, it is so exciting to see the finished product and all the amazing people it takes to produce it!"

Hannah Wiltshire, Senior Designer

“Seeing a design you’ve drawn come to life is amazing. Each and every one of the workers is such a specialist; it reminds me just how much goes into every single piece of clothing”

Victoria Cook, Footwear Designer

“Seeing the team make a pair of shoes from beginning to end is always inspiring. It’s lovely to see how many people are involved and experience first-hand the skill and effort that goes into our product. I always enjoy meeting the people who can turn a sketch into a product!”

Remember - Fashion Revolution isn’t celebrated once a year, but every day.
